What is miraDry?

miraDry is a noninvasive, FDA-cleared treatment that addresses bothersome underarm sweat and odor. Instead of masking the problem the way antiperspirants do, miraDry uses precisely controlled thermal energy to target and eliminate the sweat and odor glands in the underarm. Once those glands are eliminated, they do not grow back, which is why the reduction in sweat tends to be long-lasting. The treatment is performed right in the office with no incisions, no surgery, and no need for general anesthesia. Your underarms are numbed beforehand, then a handheld device delivers energy to the layer of skin where the sweat glands live while keeping the surface of the skin cool and protected. Recovery & Results

miraDry requires little downtime. After treatment you may notice swelling, soreness, tingling, or numbness in the underarm area, and these sensations typically clear up over a few days to a few weeks. Many patients use ice packs and over-the-counter pain relievers during the first day or two for comfort. Most people return to regular activity, including work, immediately, and exercise and more vigorous activity are usually resumed within several days. We will give you specific aftercare guidance based on how you respond to treatment.

Many patients notice a reduction in underarm sweat soon after treatment. Because miraDry eliminates the sweat and odor glands and those glands do not grow back, the results tend to be long-lasting.
